Episode 6.7 is the seventh episode of the sixth season of Primeval.

Synopsis[]

A giant snake appears at a harbour, prompting the team to head down there to capture it. Meanwhile, Jess is left in charge of the A.R.C while Lester meets with the Minister.

Plot[]

The episode starts with Connor, Matt, Abby and Emily in Lester's office talking to him about the second Matt. Lester refuses to believe the existence of a second Matt but says he will set up a CCTV system just in case. Suddenly, the Detector goes off and Jess locates the anomaly to a harbour and the team gears up and heads down there. Once the team had arrived, they find the anomaly in the ocean, but Eve sees something moving in the water. The team then notices that the object is moving toward a boat and, thinking it will attack it, they yell at the people on the boat to get out of the water. However, the object doesn't attack the boat and swims under it.

Back at the A.R.C, Jess sets up a security system on Lester's orders and asks him why he wanted the system to be put up. Lester tells her that Matt, Connor, Abby, and Emily were telling him about a second Matt, which he thinks is preposterous, and thinks they've lost their minds this time. Jess asks him why he told her to set up the system in the first place, to which he adds that he personally thinks it won't do any good, but if there is really a second Matt running around, then there's something fishy going on.

Back at the harbour, Abby tracks the creature to a nearby underwater cave and reports it to Matt, who then tells Connor to call the coast guard and get them a mini-submarine. Later, after the team get the mini-sub, Becker and Darren take it into the caves, where they are suddenly attacked by a serpentine creature. Darren freaks out for a moment, but Becker calms him down before something hits the window screen of the mini-sub. The two of them stare out the window screen to see a serpentine head staring back at them before swimming away. They then radio call the others, telling them that they've found the creature, and Matt tells then to flush it out of the cave. Becker and Darren pilot the mini-sub through the cave, following the serpent and flushing it out of the cave. Back on the surface, the creature pops its head out of the water, hissing in annoyance, before disappearing underwater. Matt asks for the creature's identity, to which Connor identifies it as a Titanoboa.

Back at the A.R.C, Lester gets a phone call from the Minister and is told that he has to urgently meet him. Lester tells the Minister that he's on his way before telling Jess that she's in charge while he's gone. Jess, despite being a bit nervous about filling in for Lester, agrees and Lester takes his leave. As Jess turns back to the ADD, she sees something interesting on the CCTV feed in Matt's office and quickly heads down there. However, when she arrives at Matt's office, she finds nothing and goes back to the detector.

Back at the harbour, Becker and Darren leave the mini-sub and board a coast guard ship to get back to the harbour, but the Titanoboa attacks the boat, forcing everyone to abandon ship. Darren and Becker manage to get on a nearby cargo ship in the harbour, but they get lost in the maze of containers while trying to get back to the others. They call Matt and he sends Jack and Eve ahead of the everyone else to the cargo ship while everyone tries to track and capture the Titanoboa.

Jack and Eve manage to find Becker and Darren near the edge of the ship, but they are attacked by the Titanoboa. Luckily, Matt, Connor, Abby, and Emily arrive just in time and shoots it with their EMDs, but to their concern, it isn't fazed by the EMDs and it prepares to strike at Darren. However, it suddenly stops its attack when it hears the roar of an engine and slithers back into the water. Confused, the team heads up to the viewing deck to get a better vantage point and are horrified as they watch the Titanoboa swimming straight for a fishing boat. Matt deduces that the Titanoboa uses infrasound to track down prey and is why it didn't attack the boat from earlier. The team tries to warn the fishermen aboard the fishing boat, but before they can call out, the Titanoboa attacks the boat and kills everyone on board.

As they watch the carnage unfold, Matt tells the team that they must think of something fast before ordering Emily to take Abby, Jack, and Eve with her down to the anomaly site while he, Becker, Connor, and Darren deal with the Titanoboa. Emily, Abby, Jack, and Eve then leave the viewing deck while Matt leads the other guys to a boat.

Meanwhile, at the abandoned warehouse, Ethan is nearly complete with a component of his plan and installs the final few pieces onto it.

Back at the harbour, Matt, Connor, Becker, and Darren are on a boat, following the Titanoboa. Darren spots it is heading toward the others, who are in the process of locking the anomaly, prompting Matt to call Emily through the comms. When Emily answers, Matt tells her that the snake is heading towards her group, prompting Emily to stop Abby from locking the anomaly. Right then and there, they hear the Titanoboa hissing behind them and turn around to see it rearing out of the water. They have a tense staredown, with Emily, Abby, Jack, and Eve not daring to move a muscle while the Titanoboa stares down at them. Suddenly, a man on a motorboat passes by, distracting the Titanoboa with the sound of the boat's engine and causing it to attack and kill him. Seeing this, Abby holds off on locking the anomaly, but as the Titanoboa begins to swim away, Emily tells her to lock it. Abby is about to lock the anomaly again when a massive battleship suddenly arrives, heading straight towards them. Hearing the battleship's engines, the Titanoboa swims towards the battleship, only to swim back through the anomaly. Abby quickly locks it before she, Emily, Jack, and Eve move their boat out of the battleship's path just in time, much to Matt's relief.

At the A.R.C, Jess is talking to Matt, who is telling her that the team is returning to the A.R.C, and she tells him and the rest of the team that Lester is having an important meeting with the Minister and that she's in charge for the time being. Matt thanks her for telling them before asking her if anything strange has happened while he was gone. Jess tells him about seeing someone entering his office. Matt thanks her before he and the team heads back to the A.R.C.

Later, in Connor's Lab, Connor finds out that his computer has been hacked and that all of the information he had on the anomalies have been removed. As he tries to figure out a way to recover everything, he notices that a new document had been added. Curious, he opens it and it shows data detailing how anomalies can be unlocked when touched. He quickly grabs his computer and rushes to Lester's office to show Lester, who had returned shortly after the team returned, this new data. As he runs through the A.R.C corridors, he pulls out his phone and calls Abby, who is in the Menagerie playing with Rex, Sid, and Nancy. She picks up and he tells her what had happened before telling her to meet him at Lester's office. Abby tells him that she's on her way and leaves the Menagerie.

Meanwhile, Matt cautiously enters his office, and after scanning the room, he notices a file with a note sitting on top of it his desk. Walking over, he picks it up and reads what the note says. The final shot shows what was on the note, which says "Related to Brown Mystery -M. A."
