Primeval: The Reboot is the reboot of the Primeval franchise. It all started of in late 2012...
The Announcement[]
In late 2012, it was announced that TV networks ITV, ProSieben, Watch, and Syfy had all received large amounts of money and were told they had to pick a franchise to reboot. Days later, they announced that they had picked Primeval the franchise they decided to reboot. On December 2012, it was announced that I.T.V and Syfy were to start off where Primeval and Primeval: New World had left off.
In addition, as part of the deal, three more shows were to be made. Primeval: Primetime, the first of the three new shows to be announced, follows a group of kids as they defend Manchester from creatures of the past and future, and the threat of the anomalies. It would have a five series run, consisting of roughly around 8 to 10 episodes, and two specials, featuring the main cast of Primeval. The next show that was announced was Primeval: Resurrected, which follows a struggling single father as he tries to balance his time between raising his three young children and leading his team against the creatures coming through the anomalies in New York City, USA. It would have consisted of nine seasons, consisting of around 10 episodes each. Lastly, the final show that was announced was Primeval: Extinction, which, like Primetime, follows a group of kids as they find themselves taking on the responsibility of dealing with the anomalies, and the creatures that come through them, in Berlin, Germany. It would have consisted of seven series, each consisting of around 6 to 8 episodes each. Three days later, six films were announced, which would be co-produced in part with all the franchise's broadcasters, Impossible Pictures, and Omnifilm Entertainment, along with several tie-in books and radio productions.
